Danielle Ballard’s time with LSU
Danielle Ballard after dominating with the Central High School took her talents to LSU in 2012. The 5’9 guard suited up for the Louisiana State Fighting Tigers for three seasons. She played 81 games during that course and her career averages are 12.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.1 steals, and 2.9 assists. She was drilling buckets while being one of the best defensive players in her conference.
Danielle Ballard led the team to the Sweet 16 while balling out with 23.3 PPG and 12.3 RPG in her junior year. She made it to the All-Sec first team in her last year at the program and even bagged the school’s MVP award in 2014. But she didn’t return for her final year after being suspended for the first 14 games for the 2014-15 season. The real reason behind the suspension was never revealed and it was reported that she violated team rules. Coach Nikki Caldwell earlier suspended her for an indefinite period.
But still, Danielle Ballard had a great career at LSU. But unfortunately, now the basketball world has lost her. Her memories, especially the ones made on court will live forever and continue to inspire other athletes.
