1973 – 2nd Finals Appearance and Championship and 2nd Finals MVP
In 1973 the New York Knicks stopped the Los Angeles Lakers from going back-to-back in a 1970 Finals rematch. The Lakers did win the first game of the series but went on to lose the next four games in a row to the Knicks. Willis Reed averaged 16 points and 9 rebounds to secure the win for the New York Knicks. The Knicks did not make any Finals appearances after this year.
