“World Record Broken by LeRonaldo”: LeBron James hangs midair for more than 5 seconds to block Julius Randle’s clutch shot

After losing four of their previous five encounters, LeBron James gave the purple and gold army, a huge boost by announcing his return in the line-up against the New York Knicks. Having to play with all of their marquee players, the Lakers started in lackluster fashion and went onto trail by as many as 22 –points going into half time. Until LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Malik Monk decided to take matters in their own hand.
Came the third quarter, the Lakers closed the 14-point lead and went onto take the lead against Knicks. With Russell Westbrook managing to score points in single digits, LeBron James decided to finally ascertain his authority on the backcourt, with Julius Randle and RJ Barrett firing. Take a look at the insane clutch block by King James which even shocked the hell out of Randle.

The epic play came in the fourth quarter with more than 2 minutes left and Knicks trailing by 8 points. With Julius Randle making his way for an easy layup at the rim, LeBron James seemed to have made the jump earlier but to surprise everyone watching, he hung in the air for more than 5 seconds, waiting for his opponent to release the ball.
Although LeBron was able to make the block yet his other hand seemed to have shoved Randle on his way down, causing the Knicks’ marquee to shoot free throws. The play did result in Knicks getting clutch points, but nevertheless, spectators managed to see the best of LeBron James once again as he returned after a 5-game sore knee absence.

That being said, LeBron James and the Lakers did manage to secure the win in OT. He went onto score a triple-double with 29 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists. Will the Lakers be able to challenge the top teams in order to secure the playoff berth? Remains to be seen as Frank Vogel’s army has for now secured a 22-point comeback victory against one of the most depleted teams in the Eastern Conference.
