Russell Westbrook was on the court with the two biggest fire powers of the Lakers, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis on Friday night. Despite the whole star players being present no one was able to bring the LA back into the competition for the play-in spot. Although LBJ and AD gave their best to keep the team on track, Westbrook still didn’t make any big impact on the game against the New Orleans Pelicans.
It was a crucial game for the LA Lakers as they are slipped to 11th seed in the western conference and if they want to keep their hope alive for playoffs, they have to show some extraordinary performance to grab the win in their remaining games, or else their elimination is not far. Lakers fans expected some spectacular game from the big three but they ended up being upset by the loss and were especially annoyed by Westbrooks’ performance in the game.

Russell Westbrook had another pedestrian game
The game was intense between the Lakers and the Pelicans, but it all ended in a tragic manner as LeBron missed the clutch three-pointer which might have brought the game to overtime. Although he scored 38 points, he was still not able to bring the win and got edged out by 114-111 to the Pelicans. On the other side, Russell Westbrook scored only 12 points where he was 5 out of 15 from the field goal and 2 out of 4 from behind the arc.
As a result, this bad performance by the former MVP clearly disappointed the fans present in the Crypto.com arena as they expected him to show some better game in this do-or-die game. When he was asked about the crowd’s reaction to his performance, Westbrook said, “I don’t pay attention to this crowd, to be honest.”
This statement by the Lakers star player clearly indicated that he has stopped carrying about what the fans think about him. Previously in this season, we have also seen that Westbrook faced a lot of booing from his home crowd which was no doubt an embarrassing night for him.
