“You just a flat out hater” Kevin Durant lashes out on Stephen A Smith yet again after latest trade comments

The drama unfolding for the Brooklyn Nets has been quite the uphill battle. After beginning the season without Kyrie Irving brought a lot of doubt in the mix of whether they would win a championship or not. People questioned if Durant and Harden would be enough to go the distance but that started to turn around as the season progressed.

The Nets were able to secure the top spot in the Eastern Conference before Kyrie Irving’s return. James Harden did a very good job as facilitating the ball and assisting Kevin Durant who led the team. Eventually, things started to get better on the announcement of Irving’s return.

Soon after his return, Durant would suffer from a sprained MCL causing him to remain out for four to six weeks. Right now, the team has slipped to the sixth seed after losing six games in a stretch. Tensions are slowly on the rise as rumors of James Harden wanting to be traded have surfaced or possibly testing out free agency after this season.

Kevin Durant has never shown any hesitation to reply to his haters. He would go as far as creating burner accounts and giving a piece of his mind for the hate thrown his way. But this time, KD did not find the need to express his feelings on what Stephen. A. Smith had to say.

On the NBA Countdown, while being asked about his thoughts on the Brooklyn Nets situation, he replied saying, “You don’t win a championship, you lose Harden that’s number one. Number two we don’t know what’s gonna happen with the Kyrie situation. What you going to do if can’t play consistently cause we don’t know whether the mandate is going to go or anything like that.”

Fair points were made by the analyst as situations surrounding both players can pivot either direction. Smith laid down a few outcomes on Durant’s run so far. He said, “If you lose, especially if Steph Curry wins and you lose. You’re gonna be known more for departing and electing to leave than you might be recognized for the two championships and the two finals MVP.”

In Smith’s defense, what he meant was that there are going to be “people” who will put him down for the decision he made to leave Stephen Curry and the Warriors while they were thriving, to join the Brooklyn Nets with Kyrie Irving. According to Smith, the possibility of being known as a winner rather than a betrayer would have been much higher if he had not left the Warriors.

But it seemed like Durant took Smith’s comments the wrong way thinking that he was putting out hate against him. KD replied to Smith’s tweet saying, “Steve, since u decided to use ESPN to push your personal agendas, im sure your minions will run with this story for you, but if u believe this is what my career is defined by then you just a flat out hater. It’s gonna be hard to box the god in.”

It definitely seems like KD had a different view of this comment that made him think that Smith was making a statement rather than a prediction. Was KD a little too hard judging the comment? Or he is justified?
