Russell Westbrook and Stephen A Smith

Stephen A Smith and Russell Westbrook seem to be having a little back and forth going on as Westbrook has constantly been under fire for his terrible performances and even worse statements made on camera which made Stephen A feel that Westbrook doesn’t deserve to be a Laker. Stephen A Smith’s arguments coupled up with the opinions of former NBA player and Lakers legend Magic Johnson, who made some brutal assessments in regards to the performance of Russell Westbrook. The problems for Westbrook don’t seem to be ending soon as the player can’t seem to get out of the mud that he has put himself in.

Lakers’ legend Earvin Magic Johnson in a statement made by him said that if the Lakers didn’t qualify for the playoffs this time, then Russell Westbrook’s trade to the Los Angeles Lakers would be the worst trade deal in the history of the franchise. Stephen A Smith who had previously stated that Westbrook wasn’t worthy enough of being called a Laker after the former stated in one of the post-match interviews that he went into the game with no expectations, and that didn’t sit very well with Stephen A and all of the other NBA Pundits.

Smith who sat down with Kendrick Perkins to defend his arguments against Westbrook and his fanboys, stated that people who were misquoting him on headlines and giving the incomplete side of the story were the ones responsible for the fights drama that arise between players and the Analysts and therefore, Westbrook couldn’t blame him, any reporter or anyone else for anything that is happening to him.

Stephen A also asked Perkins about any other player who has ever made any such statement about the Lakers, and he answered it himself saying that there was literally no one who would have ever said such things. While agreeing that Westbrook isn’t a liar, Smith stated that Westbrook should stop blaming everyone else but him and should start taking accountability for his own actions if he even wants to move forward.

With players like LeBron James and Anthony Davis alongside him, Westbrook doesn’t deserve to be able to blame the team for his terrible performances which haven’t ever been good enough to carry his team in order to get the dub even once in the entire season. Westbrook continues to be inconsistent with his shooting and his performance while all he does is complain about things other than himself.

While keeping all of this in mind, Stephen A Smith again reiterated that if things kept going the same way and if the Lakers actually didn’t qualify for the playoffs, which seems like a very tough task at this point in time and the possibilities of which are very narrow, then Russell Westbrook’s trade to the Los Angeles Lakers would actually be the worst trade in the history of the franchise as it was stated by Magic Johnson.
