“Your lineups are horrible” Gilbert Arenas Gilbert Arenas lashes out at Coach Frank Vogel after Lakers struggle to improve lacklustre performances
Gilbert Arenas and Frank Vogel
Former MVP Gilbert Arenas shared his viewpoint on the struggling LA Lakers teams on Fubo Sports YouTube Channel with Josiah Johnson. We all had expectations that the Lakers in this season will show us a greater level of a basketball game with the lineup of stars like Anthony Davis, LeBron James, and Russell Westbrook but the things turned out totally different.
Just like us, Gilbert Arenas was also having high expectations from the Lakers but seeing the Lakers getting defeated by the Pacers and the Heats made him discuss the issue of the Lakers. In a recent YouTube video, he talked about how the Lakers team can be fixed and why coach Frank Vogel is responsible for the Lakers’ current condition.

Gilbert Arenas explain why it was necessary for the LA Lakers to win 2020 NBA championship
In the 2020 NBA finals, Lebron James led the LA Lakers faced the Miami Heats in Orlando for the championship ring. The Lakers won the series in the sixth game with a 4-2 record. Although the Lakers won the championship, Gilbert Arenas has some different arguments for the coaching of Frank Vogel.
Arenas said, “When he won the championship, I said it. I give him, what a ‘C’? A ‘C’ at best, right? Because you were supposed to win that championship. Like there was no way you could lose that championship. Like you couldn’t lose! So, I’m judging you on how you actually played the game.”
Further Arenas explained that coach Frank Vogel doesn’t have good command over a better lineup, and he put all the pressure on the shoulders of LeBron James and Anthony Davis and said if Vogel prepared a proper lineup the Lakers might have clean swept the Heats.
He said, “So, those 2 guards–you got Duncan, and you know Herro, as a freshman, as a rookie, they’re outscoring you by like 30 something between those 2 against your guards. Someone has to make that up–that makes more pressure on LeBron and AD. So, you drop 2 games to a team that you should’ve 4-Oed by 20, 10 at the worst. So, it was like your lineups are horrible. You do not know what matches–it’s like getting dressed in the dark. You know that’s how he pulls his lineups.”

Gilbert Arenas puts question on Coach Frank Vogel’s decision to drop Dwight Howard in the sixth game of 2020 NBA finals
While talking about Frank Vogel’s poor lineup, Arenas also recalled that in the sixth game Vogel dropped Dwight Howard without understanding the situation of the game.
Gilbert Arenas said, “There was one thing that I just despised that he did, and this goes for any coach in sports.”
He further explained, “Game six, he tells Dwight Howard that he will not be playing this game. As a player, just sports knowledge, that was the dumbest thing you can possibly do. How do you tell a player that he’s not going to play? How do you know that? The game dictates who you’re going to play. See you already pre-judging what you’re gonna do. That’s the problem there. You’re not watching the actual game in real-time. You’re playing the game on what you think is gonna happen. It’s chess, right? You can have your moves, but if he’s not moving how you figured it out, you have to adjust to that.”
It seems that the Lakers’ recent loss to the Heats has brought them a lot of unexpected criticism and suggestion for their upcoming game. However, the Lakers are struggling they need some miracle in this season for them because they have moved down to eighth seed in the Western Conference and if they continue to lose such games it will be difficult for them to qualify for playoffs this year
