However, things have taken a sour turn recently with Sinner’s controversial doping scandal. In fact, things are now becoming personal with Kyrgios posting controversial comments on the World No.1’s girlfriend, Anna Kalinskaya.
Kyrgios and Kalinskaya were a former tennis couple back in 2020. The duo caught the attention of everybody with their fantastic tennis performances, but also by being a formidable tennis couple. Both players were seen supporting each other in their respective tennis matches.
However, in the same year, the duo parted ways. In fact, the ending of their relationship was so bitter that Kalinskaya called Kyrgios ‘a bad person’ on one of her Instagram live sessions. Regardless of what Kyrgios’ intentions are with these comments, the people are the main judge and they truly know the history of the 2022 Wimbledon runners-up.
Tennis fans blast Nick Kyrgios for his ‘abusive’ comments on Anna Kalinskaya
As soon as Nick Kyrgios‘ comments gained attraction, the tennis fans went absolutely berzerk. They blasted the Australian for being ‘jealous’ about Anna Kalinskaya no longer being with him. Here are some of the reactions:
The relationship between Kyrgios and Jannik Sinner has become extremely sour ever since the Italian’s doping scandal came to the surface in August. The World No.1 tested positive for a banned substance twice but escaped a potential ban from the ATP.
Many former and current tennis players, including Kyrgios, criticized the decision by the tennis authorities. Kyrgios has refused to do any post-match interviews with Sinner at the US Open. However, he has done interviews with other top players, like Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic. Kyrgios believes that other tennis players have been banned for less. Simona Halep and Maria Sharapova are the popular examples who got banned for taking illegal substances.
