“15 interceptions in 4 freakin seasons”: Shannon Sharpe strongly believes Aaron Rodgers is the best signal-caller in the league

Madden NFL has been receiving some big backlash ever since they released the player ratings for this year’s edition. Davante Adams was ranked No.1 in wide receiver and Cooper Kupp second despite being the receiving triple crown and Super Bowl MVP. Daniel Jones was ranked higher than Jalen Hurts in Quarterbacks Speed.

The thing which irked fans the most was the Top 10 quarterback rating. Tom Brady was ranked as the best QB with an overall rating of 97 ahead of Aaron Rodgers who has a 96 overall rating. Even though both QBs finished the season with the same number of wins, fans believe that Rodgers should’ve been ranked No.1 given his insane stats.

Shannon Sharpe can’t wrap his head around Aaron Rodgers throwing just 15 INTs in the past four years

Hall of Fame tight end and Undisputed co-host Shannon Sharpe voiced his opinion quite strongly that Aaron Rodgers is the No.1 quarterback in the NFL. “I don’t know how you deny him. He’s a 4x MVP. He has a 13-3 record over the last three seasons. He was No.1 in QBR, he’s 37 touchdowns, 4 interceptions. People, I don’t think you realize just how great Aaron Rodgers has been,” Shannon said.

“Aaron Rodgers has thrown 15 interceptions in the last four seasons. Josh Allen alone last year threw 15, Patrick Mahomes threw 13, Tom Brady threw 12. Over the last four seasons, Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers has the same amount of touchdown passes, 136. But the difference is Tom Brady has 28 more interceptions,” Shannon added.

Shannon Sharpe couldn’t stress enough how crazy it is for a QB to throw just 15 INTs over the last four seasons. Rodgers is known for his insane accuracy which makes him one of the best QBs in the history of the game. However, despite being a great QB and dominating in the regular season, Rodgers has a knack for not reflecting the same in the postseason. During his 17-year-long stint with the Packers, Rodgers has led the team to the Super Bowl only once and won the game. He hasn’t been to another Super Bowl again.

While raining praises on the Green Bay Packers signal-caller, Shannon did mention the lack of postseason success Aaron Rodgers has but said that he can’t just ignore his regular season production. With the exit of Davante Adams from Green Bay, many believe that it’ll be difficult for Rodgers to be his explosive self with other receivers. Shannon came to Rodgers’ rescue once again and said, “The man had won 2 MVPs before Davante. Davante made his job a lot easier, he (Aaron) made Davante’s job a lot easier.”

“I do not have a problem with Aaron Rodgers being No.1. Given what he’s done four the last four years. Given what he’s done over the last two years, I’m looking at these numbers and this is just crazy. This is crazy for a man to throw that few INTs with that many TDs in a four-year career,” Shannon concluded. Given that Rodgers is nearing the end of his NFL career, it is important for him to win a Super Bowl to cement his legacy in the league. Let’s see whether the 2022 season is his lucky year or not.
