“I wouldn’t rule that out”: Aaron Rodgers hints at retiring after 2021 season
Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers, oh boy, this one name invokes so many contrasting emotions. The Green Bay Quarterback always finds a way to stay in the limelight. One day we see fans and experts singing praises about how immaculate the man is on the field, and on the other day, we see the same people brutally trolling him.
To be fair, one can’t blame either of them for doing so as Rodgers has made innumerable questionable statements on COVID-19, treatment methods, and vaccines. Recently, there were reports that Rodgers might leave the Packers after the ongoing season.
“I’m just enjoying this season for this season”: Aaron Rodgers
In a recent press conference, Rodgers was asked if he is going to feature for the Packers next season or will he ply his trade somewhere else. In reply, Rodgers said, “I wouldn’t rule that out. I’m just enjoying this season for this season, and I think playing next year will definitely be in the thought process.”
“One of the things — wanting to not be a bum on the way out, and still being able to play [well] is important to me,” he said, adding that this year has taught him that he is still very capable of playing at the highest level. “If this year has taught me anything, it’s I still can play. I still have a love for the game. I’m still super competitive and still enjoy the process of the week.“
He claimed that he is very competitive and still pretty much in love with the game. He added that he finds it hard to miss the practice and claimed that it is really tough not to be out on the field. “Saying that doesn’t mean I would want to play elsewhere,” Rodgers said.
“The things that I’ve said about the team this year, about [GM] Brian [Gutekunst]’s and I’s relationship, has been heartfelt and genuine. I do appreciate a lot of the things I’ve seen from the team that are directly related to conversations we had in the offseason. That was meaningful to me. I’ve enjoyed being part of conversations that directly affect my job,” he stated.
