Almost every major sports network including NFL reported on Saturday that legendary quarterback Tom Brady had retired from football. However, this report turned out to be a hoax after Brady’s father and his agent addressed the media clarifying that the 7x Super Bowl Champ has not decided to retire just yet.

Brady’s retirement brought back 22 years’ worth of beautiful moments and memories. One of those mesmerizing moments was when the NFL legend met F1 star Daniel Riccardo at Monaco in 2018.

Tom Brady back in 2018, had people scratching their heads and wondering where the star QB had vanished off to. Brady who was still the New England QB missed his voluntary OTAs — Organized team practice activities that are in-person meetings and classroom instruction designed to help players improve during the offseason.

Brady missed the OTAs to travel to Europe to watch the Monaco Grand Prix where he decided to get some of his missed workouts in. The Patriots quarterback met up with the winner of the Monaco Grand Prix, Daniel Ricciardo, who was still a driver for Red Bull Racing. Brady stood on one yacht and threw passes to Daniel Ricciardo who was standing on another yacht.

Ricciardo overcame a mechanical problem to hold off Sebastian Vettel and win the Monaco Grand Prix for the first time in his career amid late drama at Monaco. “Two years in the making this, so I finally feel like the redemption has arrived,” said Ricciardo in his postrace interview. “There was a few doubts that came in mid-race, but we won Monaco. It feels good, it feels good.”

Tom Brady’s agent Don Yee addressed the media and clarified the confusion regarding the QB’s retirement. He said Brady himself will announce his retirement shortly.
