Former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck took the tough decision a couple of years back in 2019 despite only being just 29-years of age. Retiring from the sport that you love is never, easy especially if the call is made at about 29-years of age, the age which is considered the prime time of one’s career.
The injury-ravaged star had his reasons, of course, which later emerged to be more of a mental thing rather than it being anything physical. Andrew Luck revealed his decision after the Colts’ preseason encounter against the Chicago Bears.
Andrew Luck was booed off the pitch in his final match for the Colts
Although he did not make the decision public until after the game was over, rumours had grown by then and people had an idea of what could unfold. With that assumption, the Indianapolis Colts home crowd present at the stadium did not take the decision very nicely and in an incredibly savage decision, booed Andrew Luck off the pitch.
The moment did not go down too well with the player, who was visibly disappointed to hear the boos and jeers being hurled at him after the match.
After the game, when Luck made his retirement official during a press conference he was asked if he heard the boos, and admitted that they did “hurt.”
“Yeah, I’d be lying if I didn’t say I heard the reaction,” Luck said. “Yeah, it hurt. I’ll be honest. It hurt.”
