“I would trade myself,” Bills GM has a stern message for Josh Allen’s suitors ahead of 2022 season
Josh Allen is certainly building a great resume and has done wonders in his initial years as an NFL player. The 25-year old has proven his worth to the Buffalo Bills in gold, over the past couple of years and earned his place among the better quarterbacks in the whole of the division.
However, there have been slight rumours regarding his future at the franchise, with speculations saying that he might be traded to the Indianapolis Colts, who are in need of a quarterback themselves. All of those speculations and rumours regarding Josh Allen’s future have been put to bed by Buffalo Bills‘ General manager Brandon Beane.
Brandon Beane revealed that he has regular conversations with Josh Allen to take in his inputs on the side
Brandon Beane made an appearance on the popular podcast internet show, The Pat McAfee Show, where he spoke at length on the plans the Bills have ahead of the 2022 season. The host, Pat McAfee intelligently slipped in a question involving Josh Allen’s future, by throwing out a trade proposal.
“Off the record, act like nobody’s listening. Nobody. Just between us,” McAfee quizzed Beane. “You send Josh Allen to the Colts … and we’ll give you … whatever you want. We doing that?”
Brandon Beane’s response was stout and left a clear message for any potential suitor of Josh Allen this season. Beane said, that he would rather trade himself first than agree to a move for Allen.
“I would trade myself before I traded Josh,” he replied.
Brandon Beane continued on the quarterback saying, “Josh is great. We have conversations … more on offensive players than anything. How he views certain guys, not only as players but in the locker room, what’s their leadership level, what are things that maybe I don’t see from my seat that a player brings intangibly.”
It is no surprise that the Buffalo Bills are not willing to trade Josh Allen anytime soon, because the quarterback was among the top-3 in the league for the past two seasons, and it looks like he’s only getting started to reach the greatness that many expect him to achieve.
