“Please don’t twist the knife” – Boston fans were heartbroken as Tom Brady brutally trolled the Red Sox
The Boston Red Sox and Tom Brady
Tom Brady has an insane presence of mind when he’s on the field trying to win a game in less than a quarter. The same presence of mind can be seen on social media where he often trolls fellow players and teams of other sports such as MLB, NBA, and F1 to name a few.
On Friday night, Brady took a dig at the Boston Red Sox who were trailing the Toronto Blue Jays 28-5. This was the Sox’s worst performance in franchise history as they gave up the most runs to an opponent in a single game. The Blue Jays completely crushed the Red Sox and destroyed any hope for the team to make a comeback just like Brady did in Super Bowl LI.
Tom Brady tried to pass his Super Bowl LI luck onto the Boston Red Sox
Tom Brady is notoriously famous for whipping victory out of thin air. He is known to make last-minute comebacks when his team is in a crunch moment. The most famous of Brady’s comebacks has got to be the game against Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI. The New England Patriots were trailing the Atlanta Falcons by 28-3 in the third quarter. Everyone thought that the Falcons are going to win the game quite easily with 17 mins left on the clock.
But that’s when Brady entered ‘GOD’ mode and quickly made up the deficit points and led the game into overtime. From there it was an easy win for the Patriots in OT and they won 34-28 in the most enthralling comebacks of all time. Looking at the poor Red Sox trailing behind the Blue Jays in the same proportion, Brady tried to pass the same good luck on to Boston. He retweeted ESPN SportsCenter’s post and tagged his partner in Super Bowl LI comeback, Julian Edelman telling him, “Gonna be a hell of a story.”
Twitter’s reaction to Tom Brady hoping for a Boston comeback
This was an inside quip among the duo. “Let’s go, baby,” Edelman told Brady on the sideline during the comeback in Super Bowl LI. “Gonna be a hell of a story.” Brady replied, “Hell yeah.” Unfortunately, the Red Sox were unable to make a comeback like Brady did and hoped for. They lost the series opener to the Blue Jays, 28-5.
