“Humanistic mistake” – Former NFL QB Cam Newton gets candid about his ‘secret son’ outside of his relationship with Kia Proctor

Cam Newton is a star both on and off the field. The former NFL MVP, who has been without a team for the past year, is known to be a father to a whole squadron of kids. Newton is the father of seven beautiful kids in his relationships.
He created quite a buzz when he broke off his relationship with his longtime girlfriend, Kia Proctor, in 2020. The NFL free agent quarterback was candid about his cheating scandal on The Pivot podcast last week.

Newton started dating Kia Proctor back in 2013. After two years of dating, the couple welcomed their first child, Chosen, in 2015. The pair went on to have Sovereign-Dior (2017), Camidas (2018), and their fourth kid, Cashmere (2019). Cam also stepped up to be a stepfather to Kia’s daughter from her previous relationship.
While Kia was pregnant with Newton’s fourth child, the former Panthers QB had a secret son with model La Reina Shaw in the summer of 2020. This led to considerable controversy, and Kia ended her long-term relationship with Newton.
In July 2020, Cam shared his picture with his newborn Cashmere on Instagram. “I have grown so much with you being here on this earth,” wrote Cam, “and I am constantly reminded what my purpose, discipline, and drive is. Thank you, son. Enjoy your day.” Cam again assumed the role of stepfather to Shaw’s son, Jaden Amarrio, from a previous relationship.
“Honestly, it was a situation, a personal situation for me,” Newton said, explaining his affair on The Pivot. “My longtime girlfriend at the time [Proctor], you know, we had a family. And I made a mistake, I hurt her, and I jeopardized our family at that time and I had a child outside of our relationship. And, coming from where I come from, being the person who I am, nobody would ever speak on it because we got a lot of people who are in high powers still make humanistic mistakes, and I can honestly say I made a humanistic mistake.”
Cam Newton and La Reina Shaw made their relationship public in March 2021. However, it seems that the couple has gone their separate ways. “When Caesar Lorenzo Newton was born, I then stopped caring because I can only be the best person that I can be,” he added. “And painting this picture of a person that, ‘Aw man, I gotta act this type of way, aw man, I gotta be this type of person.’ I got so many kids now that, if I’m not Superman to them, I’ll be damned if I allow the world to call me Superman.”
Back in February, Newton explained to Brittany Renner, who is an Instagram fitness model and influencer, on his YouTube series “Funky Friday” why he chose not to marry Proctor, his longtime girlfriend and mother of his four kids. “That’s a great question… The thing is that person that I was while we were having children together, I couldn’t be the best husband. I wasn’t prepared to be a husband then,” Newton said.
As per SideAction.com, the former No.1 draft pick was dating Jasmin Brown in March when he stepped out with the actress at Milan Fashion Week. Teams like Seattle Seahawks and Carolina Panthers have expressed their desire to sign the free agent ahead of the 2022 season. However, nothing has been made official as of yet by either of the teams.
