“Indianapolis Colts makes sense,” Chris Canty has his say on Russell Wilson’s Super Bowl dreams
Russell Wilson has found himself in the NFL news recently, with rumours of him looking for a trade away from his current franchise, Seattle Seahawks. It comes in as no surprise, given that he has been one of the most consistent quarterbacks in the NFL over the past few seasons and he could be on the move for the first time in his long career.
The 33-year old, Russell Wilson last won a Super Bowl way back in 2014 and is in the pursuit of his second ring since then. However, leading NFL analyst, Chris Canty seems to have found the perfect team for Wilson to end his long wait for the iconic World Champions tag.
Russell Wilson needs to move to the Indianapolis Colts to end his long drought of a Super Bowl ring
Speaking on the popular show, “Get Up,” Canty said that he believes the Indianapolis Colts would be the perfect team for Russell Wilson to move to, since he would take the franchise to the level of winning the Super Bowl next season.
“It’s the Indianapolis Colts. I was just talking about it with Carson Wentz. They have a top 10 scoring offense, top 10 scoring defense, playmakers on every level in the defense, and an offensive line that’s built like a brick wall. They were in the bottom third of the league in terms of sacks allowed,” said Chris Canty.
Chris Canty also proclaimed that with the amount of quality the Colts have in their offense, Russell Wilson would surely enjoy his time at the franchise and also related back to the comments from Jim Irsay following their inability to make it into the playoffs this season.
“And then when you look at their running game with Jonathan Taylor, you’re talking about a guy that’s an MVP candidate. Yeah, you got to work on some of the weapons. But Indianapolis makes a lot of sense.”
“If you look back at what their owner Jim Irsay tweeted out during the playoffs in January, he said you have to have a quarterback in an offense that can score north of 30 to win this time of year. And you got to have a defense that can keep him under that.”
You couple that with the reports that we see coming up with Chris Mortensen and others. It makes it feel like the culture is about to make a big push in order to try to get one of these big-time quarterbacks.”
