“Things I Can Do Are Uncoachable”: CJ Gardner reflects on successfully shutting Tom Brady

The New Orleans Saints have had a mixed season thus far. With 8 wins and 8 losses in the season, they are placed on the second spot in the NFC South just below the mighty Buccaneers. The Bucs have won 12 games and have lost just 4. However, Brady and Co were stunned by the Saints last month.

In an encounter that was dominated by defense, the Buccaneers were not even able to open their account. Tom Brady, the superstar quarterback was completely shut by the Saints’ defense. This led to a dramatic outburst from Tom Brady as well and one of the main reasons behind Brady’s frustration was CJ Gardner.

Recently, Gardner appeared on NFL Total Access and talked about what he is capable of on the field. “I’m not the biggest, I’m not the smallest, I’m not the fastest but I know the things I can do is un-coachable sometimes. I go out there, have fun, play football like I’m a kid again sometimes,” he said.

When asked why exactly the Saints’ defense has enjoyed so much success against the Bucs’ star-studded offense, CJ said, “It’s the tip on your shoulder man, you got the grit that you want to go against the best quarterback of all time. Who doesn’t want to play the best.”

CJ went on to praise Tom even further. He said, “Tom knows every P’s and Q’s out there, he knows what you are thinking.” CJ added that he has what we call the ‘juice’, the passion to go out there and do the best one can. As far as Tom’s Bucs are concerned, they are the NFC South champions by some distance. On the other hand, the Saints have no option but to thrash every opponent who comes in their way.
