“Cleveland Browns should have approached me,” Tony Buzbee, lawyer of 22 plaintiffs suing Deshaun Watson, speaks up after QB’s controversial move

The world of NFL has witnessed major controversy throughout the past week, after a debatable move took place in the free agency market. The Cleveland Browns signed Deshaun Watson from the Houston Texans, which also say three of their players make the switch to Texas.

The 26-year old quarterback has a troubled past, in the sense that there have been sexual harrasment allegations made against him. Several massage therapists have filed cases against him, but he emerged unscathed from those allegations after a jury ruled in favour of him.

Despite him not facing criminal charges, the jury is still out on his character simply because of the magnitude and volume of the allegations made against him. Fans have argued whether the Browns made the right decision to bring Deshaun Watson into the NFL side.

Now, Tony Buzbee, the lawyer representing the 22 plaintiffs who have sued Watson has come out and spoken out after the trade was made official by the Cleveland Browns.

“The Browns organization did not reach out to me,” Buzbee told John Barr of ESPN.com. “I didn’t expect them to do so, and can understand why they didn’t. But, knowing what I know, they probably should have.”

Deshaun Watson has been brought into the Cleveland Browns as part of their major overhaul of the roster ahead of the 2022 season, which will in all probability see the departure of their ever reliant quarterback Baker Mayfield.

The Cleveland Browns, however have paid no heed to these controversies surrounding Watson, and have completely stood behind their decision saying that his football positives outweigh the external factors.
