‘That was the most anemic offense’- College Football expert slams Alabama for their dud show in Iron Bowl

Alabama edged past Auburn 24-22 in the longest Iron Bowl ever. But the match required four overtimes to decide a winner. The match witnessed one of the most famous drives in the history of this legendary rivalry, that established sophomore quarterback Bryce Young a bit more firmly in the Alabama football legacy.
Although it was the Crimson Tide that had the last laugh, for much of the game Auburn had blocked Alabama’s attack, including Bryce Young. Alabama could only muster 71 rushing yards after Young was sacked seven times.
In the first half of the Iron Bowl, things became so heated on the bench that Alabama offensive linemen Evan Neal and Damieon George had to be separated. In the first half, the Crimson Tide had more punts (six) than first downs (four) and fell down 10-0 in the third quarter.
Looking at how Alabama performed during their outing against Auburn, college football analyst Heather Dinich had something to say.
‘Alabama against Georgia could be one-sided’
The ESPN journalist appeared on a TV show, where she was asked about her opinion on Alabama’s uninspiring performance. In response, she slammed the Crimson Tide.
Dinich said, “That was the most anemic offense that we’ve seen in regulation probably under Nick Saban ever. My question is what does the selection committee do with Alabama this week. They dropped them after a loss for the first time last week against Arkansas. They showed more vulnerabilities this week. They couldn’t drop below Cincinnati. Are they still a top-four team when you look at what they’ve done offensively?“
She was partly impressed with what Young did on the field. She continued saying, “Bryce Young’s 97-yard touchdown drive! He was spectacular late in the fourth quarter and in overtime when they needed it the most. Bryce Young is still very much in the Heisman conversation right now. (But) He’s not leading it.”
Dinich also predicted the outcome of the game between Alabama and Georgia. She said, “Alabama against Georgia I don’t know. I think that could be one-sided. Lopsided.”
Bryce Young had a tough day at office, but he came out a ‘winner’
Young threw for 317 yards on 25 of 51 passing attempts, two touchdowns, and an interception. Throughout the game, he was put under a lot of pressure by the Tigers’ defense. He was sacked seven times by Auburn. Young’s first interception came in the third quarter when safety Bydarrius Knighten intercepted him.

The Crimson Tide advanced to 11-1 with the victory (7-1 SEC). Auburn concluded the regular season with a 6-6 record (3-5 SEC). In Saturday’s SEC championship game in Atlanta, Alabama will meet No. 1 Georgia.
