Davante Adams expected to be pursued by the Las Vegas Raiders and Jacksonville Jaguars for 2022

Derek Carr, Davante Adams and Trevor Lawrence
Davante Adams and the Green Bay Packers may part ways for the first time in the prolific receiver’s career. He’s enjoyed an 8 year tenure in Green Bay with the latter half of his time spent being Aaron Rodgers’ main target.
In that time, Adams has become one of the league’s best receivers. Up to this point in his career, he has 669 receptions for 8121 yards and 73 touchdowns. Another impressive stats mark for Adams is that in all 3 of his season where he’s had more than 1000 yards, he’s crossed 1300 yards and in 2021 he set a new personal best at 1553.

Given how he’s been playing throughout his career but especially the last 4 seasons, Davante Adams reportedly wants to be the highest-paid receiver in the NFL. His demands of $30 million may be difficult for the Green Bay Packers to provide given their cap problems and their desire to keep Aaron Rodgers around.
One situation that the Packers can look for is to franchise tag Adams to at least keep him for 2022. But if that doesn’t work out, Davante Adams could hit the open market and there certainly are teams that would bring him in on a massive contract.
Could Davante Adams and Derek Carr reunite in Las Vegas?

The quick answer to that subheading is, yes. The Raiders are in need of receiving help after Henry Ruggs’ ‘incident’ took him out of the sport. Adding Adams alongside Hunter Renfrow and Darren Waller could truly make Las Vegas one of the best passing teams in the AFC.
The connection between Derek Carr and Davante Adams comes from their time together in college at Fresno State where they were an elite combination. It helps that if Adams hits free agency, the Raiders do have the cap space to meet his lofty salary demands. Whether or not they’ll offer the $30 million he wants is yet to be seen but they can make it work.
The combination of playing with Derek Carr again and actually getting the money that he wants makes the Raiders one of the favorites to land Davnte Adams this spring if he does in fact hit the open market.
Davante Adams to the Jaguars?

The Jaguars are in dire need of talent all over the field. They are poised to have a massive amount of cap room this offseason which will allow for this deal to be possible. Bringing in a solid star like Davante Adams would massively help the development of Trevor Lawerence as well as give the Jaguars a dependable receiver for the long term.
While the Jaguars can make it happen, the real question is, should they. Having a massive amount of money to spend in free agency means they can target multiple positions. Spending a large amount of the cap space on one player could be detrimental to the team as a whole.
Before really digging into these situations, we first have to see if the Packers actually re-sign Davante Adams. Luckily with free agency coming up quickly, we won’t have to wait too long to see how this pans out.
