Geno Smith has played as backup to Russell Wilson this season for the Seahawks
Geno is fully cooperative with the investigation. I hope that an open mind can be kept by all as the facts are ascertained,” Smith’s attorney Jon Fox said in a statement.
Geno Smith has had to be content with playing second fiddle to Russell Wilson and has only made four appearances for the Seahawks this season. The 31-year old has put in decent performances in those matches recording 65 of 95 passes for 702 yards, five touchdowns and one interception.

However, despite being arrested on suspicion, the quarterback urged his fans not to pass any judgement on him, until matters evolve further.
The quarterback took to his official Twitter account to address his fans after being arrested, “Being arrested brings a taint onto the reputation that is impossible to undo, no matter what really happened. I’m asking all of you to hold back on judging me the same as you would do for a friend or family member. I’ll have more to say down the road & ask that you bear with me.”
