The tight end Hayden Randle Hurst is currently playing for the Cincinnati Bengals. Although before joining the Bengals roster, he was first drafted by the Baltimore Ravens and later traded to the Atlanta Falcons.
The multi-sport athlete had a hard time choosing what sport to pursue in his early years. Being in High School he was the favorite player on the team, playing both baseball and football. After he graduated in 2012, the Philadelphia Pirates opted for him in the 2012 MLB draft.
The bright player, Hayden Hurst, turned down the baseball scholarship from Florida state and entered the South Carolina football team to showcase his abilities, eventually giving up baseball due to ‘yips’. Despite that, he was able to turn heads with his amazing football skills at the university.
Hurst played well all throughout his college years and was unanimously named to the 2017 All-SEC Football team. Before declaring for his draft, he played against Michigan in the 2018 Outback Bowl, recording 3 receptions for 41 yards leading the team South Carolina to victory.
He was selected by the Baltimore Ravens as the 25th overall in the 2018 NFL draft where he signed a 4-year deal with the team. The player made his first career debut against Carolina Panthers, recording his first career touchdown.
Later, in 2020, he was traded to the Atlanta Falcons, scoring well for the team all around the season. His latest trade was done to Cincinnati Bengals, where he was signed for a one-year term in 2022.
