And now NFL insider Peter Schrager has said on the Pat McAfee Show that Matthew Stafford himself was interested in joining the Colts as well. However, he told that the Colts could’ve acquired him but they didn’t make a good offer. Pat McAfee was considerably disappointed by this as instead of picking up Matthew Stafford, the Colts went for Philip Rivers and Carson Wentz.

Stafford was willing to be a Colt last year,” Schrager said. “He was willing to go to the Colts… But they didn’t go over the top to go get Matthew Stafford last year. It was more ‘Hey, Frank Reich and Carson Wentz can go do this.'”
