“He’s got the biggest arm I’ve ever seen” Throwback to when Josh Allen tore up the NFL Combine in 2018

Josh Allen

Josh Allen is now seen as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. However, coming out of college and entering the 2018 draft, he had his fair share of doubters.

While he certainly was poised to be a first-round pick, many people doubted Allen’s decision-making and his footwork along with his habit of overthrowing receivers. He was also degraded for too often opting to scramble when he didn’t need to which hurt his offense.

With all these things going around, Josh Allen had to show up in a big way at the NFL Scouting Combine to really cement his draft spot. To say he did just that would be quite an understatement.

As mentioned earlier, the scouting combine was crucial for Josh Allen to prove himself as a legitimate top 10 prospect.

And, as you can see, he absolutely nailed it. Combine this performance with his college performances and that was enough for the Buffalo Bills to select him at #7 overall.

He struggled a bit earlier on in his career, starting just 11 games in 2018 and throwing for 2074 yards, 10 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. His second season wasn’t much better but he did start the full season and threw for 3089 yards and 20 touchdowns and only 9 touchdowns.

His 3rd and 4th seasons are where the Josh Allen we know today really emerged. The addition of Stefon Diggs was a massive plus to Allen and he crossed 4000 yards and 35 touchdowns in both seasons. Now he is consistently drawing attention when the big names are called as he is very rightly mentioned along with them.

Going into season 5, Josh Allen is now seen as one of the front runners to win the NFL MVP. Along with that, his team should be just as potent as it was last season meaning, Allen could find himself a Super Bowl champion and MVP in the same season. All aboard the hype train. Josh Allen is here to stay.
