Former Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker Clark Haggans died in Fort Collins, Colorado on Monday. He was aged 46. Haggans was part of the Steelers squad which lifted the Super Bowl XL championship back in 2006.
An autopsy has been conducted by the Larimer County coroner’s office on Wednesday to analyse the cause of the death of Clark Haggans. However, no official report has been given out till now although it’s being said no foul has been intended.
Clark Haggans was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2000 NFL Draft and started in 61 games for them in a career which spanned over eight seasons. He recorded 12 forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, 332 tackles 32.5 sacks and one interception in his time with the team.

The news of Clark Haggans’ death was announced on Pittsburgh Sports Radio by The Fan’s Colin Dunlap on Tuesday evening. However, his cause of death has still not been revealed and still remains under inspection.
Clark Haggans received heavy praise from his teammates during his playing days who were astonished by his athletic prowess and incredible stamina. They were astonished by the constant levels of energy he possessed during games.
“He’s full-speed, the whole game,” defensive end Aaron Smith said about Clark Haggans back in 2007. “I don’t know how the man does it, but it’s amazing to watch him play. He’s got such a motor, and I don’t think people realize how athletic he really is, too.”
“Clark never stops — ever,” defensive end Brett Keisel said as well in 2007. “It seems like, during the course of a game, when guys are starting to wear out and their energy levels are starting to drop, that’s when Clark really feasts on the opponent.”
He was associated with the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2000-2007. After his time with the Steelers came to a close, Haggans went on to play for the Arizona Cardinals for four years and retired with the San Francisco 49ers in 2012.
