The Kansas City Chiefs will play their Wild Card game against the Miami Dolphins on Saturday. It is a game between two teams that finished the season 11-6. Both the Chiefs and the Dolphins played terrific football throughout the season and now find themselves in the postseason.

The Chiefs are the defending Super Bowl champions. They had a phenomenal run last year and reached the pinnacle of the sport for the second time under the Patrick Mahomes era.

They were expected to make another dominant run to the playoffs this year as well; however, it hasn’t been a smooth ride for the team from Kansas City. The Chiefs limped into the postseason and will play a wild card game for the first time since 2020.

The Dolphins, on the other hand, transformed themselves under the guidance of HC Mike McDaniel. The former San Francisco 49ers OC got the opportunity in Miami last year and, after a disappointing end to 2022, has created a mighty juggernaut this year.

Miami this year has been one of the best offensive teams in the league. With weapons such as QB Tua Tagovailoa and receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, the Dolphins have dominated the league offensively. They finished the season with the second-best offense in the league.

The Dolphins have lost their last four games against the Chiefs. They met each other earlier this season in Germany, where the Dolphins lost 21-14. It was a terrific outing for the Chiefs, who got the better of Miami due to a solid Mahomes performance. Both of these teams have played each other 32 times so far, with both teams winning 16 games each.

Kansas City ranked sixth in passing offense (246.4) and ninth in total offense (351.3) at the end of the season. Mahomes possesses the innate ability to dominate games and lead his team to victory. Furthermore, the Texas Tech product has an 11-3 postseason record.

Mahomes came in eighth in passing touchdowns (27), seventh in QBR (62.9), and sixth in passing yards (4,183). During the Week 9 triumph against the Dolphins, Mahomes completed 20 of 30 passes for 185 yards and two touchdown passes.

Why the Miami Dolphins can win?

If the Chiefs have Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, the Miami Dolphins have Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill. Tua Tagovailoa, the quarterback, has lightning-fast accuracy.

The 25-year-old tied for fifth place in passing touchdowns (29) and led the NFL in passing yards (4,624). This season, he has more than 300 passing yards in five games.

Tyreek Hill, a receiver, is still a superb passer who can blow a defense apart. The eight-time Pro Bowl selection finished first in receiving yards (1,799) and receiving touchdowns (13) during the regular season, despite tying for second in receptions (119).
