Richard Sherman’s outburst against the 49ers was uncalled for and completely unethical
The Seattle Seahawks played in the NFC Championship Game against the San Francisco 49ers eight years ago. Despite entering halftime with a seven-point deficit, the Seahawks took the lead in the fourth quarter thanks to QB Colin Kaepernick losing one fumble and throwing two interceptions. The second interception came in the final seconds of the game when Richard Sherman knocked the ball intended for Michael Crabtree and was intercepted by linebacker Malcolm Smith to seal the 23–17 win. The Seahawks went to their second Super Bowl in franchise history and won Super Bowl XLVIII.
NFL reporter Erin Andrews interviewed an angry Sherman after his game-winning INT. “Well, I’m the best corner in the game,” a vociferous Sherman told Andrews.“When you try me with a sorry receiver like [Michael] Crabtree that’s the result you’re going to get. Don’t you ever talk about me.”
Sherman was fuming the whole time he talked with Andrews. “Who was talking about you?” asked Andrews with ice-cold stature. “Crabtree,” Sherman replied. “Don’t you talk about the best, or I’m going to shut it for you real quick.”
NFL fans were extremely disappointed with Sherman’s outburst and criticized him for being a bad winner and basically classless. He was fined $7,875 by NFL for unsportsmanlike conduct/taunting in the last minute of the NFC Championship game against the 49ers.
