The Colts icon Pat McAfee is a good friend of Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers is a regular on the Pat McAfee Show. It’s surprising since the 4-time league MVP QB is not known as a media-friendly person. But McAfee is just not a media personality. He has been a good friend of Rodgers for quite some time now.
Rodgers and McAfee first met back in 2019 thanks to their mutual friend, A. J. Hawk. During a Monday Night Football game in 2022, Rodgers joined the Manningcast, where he revealed that he became a good friend with the former Colts punter after seeing him at a golf tournament.
“We had a late drop-out and my buddy, A. J. Hawk, said, ‘You should get Pat McAfee’. So I reached out to Pat, and Pat was actually on a stand-up comedy tour. He came off the tour, joined our team and I went to him when he got there — I had never met him, I introduced myself and said, ‘Hey when I introduce you at the welcome dinner, do you mind doing a couple minutes of stand-up?’ He goes, ‘Naw I’m not doing that.’ So I’m introducing my team and I say former punter and All-Pro Pat McAfee is here. Pat walks up on stage, takes the mic out of my hand, and does 10 minutes of stand-up. I knew from that point forward he was going to be a great friend,” Rodgers said.
After that meeting, McAfee and Rodgers began to hang out regularly and the Packers QB also made a regular appearance in the Pat McAfee show since it allowed him to “silence all the douchebags” who were talking for him.
McAfee’s podcast has been the go-to source for any Aaron Rodgers-related news, especially during the off-season. The Packers QB joins the show every week for more than 30 minutes and clears the countless speculations about him.
