Bruce Arians shocked the NFL world when he announced that he would be stepping down as the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This decision from Arians attracted a lot of rumors that pointed out that it was Tom Brady who wanted Arians out of the head coach position.
However, the former Bucs coach has squashed all the rumors and made it crystal clear that he and Brady share a healthy relationship. During the press conference, Arians explained why he shifted to the front office and put a full stop to the rumors about a rift between him and the Bucs QB.

Tom Brady,44, was at the front row during Bruce Arians’ press conference on Thursday. “All the players — there are a few in here — everyone of them has gotten cussed out. Including him,” Arians said, pointing to Brady. “That’s just part of me. That’s nothing new. We have a great relationship. … People got to write s—. It couldn’t be further from the truth.”
Even before Brady decided to return to the NFL, there were reports that suggested friction between the coach and QB. Apparently, Brady was not a fan of Arians’ management style. Shannon Sharpe on Undisputed even said that Brady forced the Bucs organization to choose between him and Bruce Arians.
The 69-year old coach has now been shifted to the front office where he’ll serve as the Senior Consultant to the team. “A number of people have already asked, ‘Why are you stepping away from a chance to go to the Hall of Fame and win another Super Bowl?’ Because I don’t give a s— about the Hall of Fame,” Arians, 69, said. “Succession is way important to me. This has been my dream for a long time. Guys that know me, they knew I wanted one of my guys to take over.”
Bruce Arians has been commended by everyone in the league for the diversity in his coaching staff. The defensive coordinator of Tampa Bay, Todd Bowles, will succeed BA as the head coach. Even though Arians has put a rest to the rumors that Brady forced him to retire, it’ll always be a topic of discussion for all the football shows.
