“It’s going to be what Russell Wilson likes to do,” Nathaniel Hackett provides an update on Denver Broncos’ offensive plans for 2022 season
Russell Wilson
The Denver Broncos have earned themselves a massive upgrade, ahead of the 2022 season, when they traded in veteran quarterback Russell Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks. The 33-year old quarterback is a proven performer at the top level for several years, and is also looking to add to his Super Bowl tally from 2013.
The Broncos let go of five draft picks and three players in order to secure Russell Wilson, a move which perfectly portrayed their desperation to bring him into the franchise. Denver Broncos Head coach, Nathaniel Hackett is extremely pleased with the signing and is eager to work closely with Wilson.
Nathaniel Hackett said Russell Wilson will have a big say on Denver Broncos’ offensive plays next season
The veteran NFL head coach, made it absolutely clear that Russell Wilson will have a major say in their offensive plans and plays on the pitch when the new season kicks off and they have starred planning in that regard.
It is understandable that Hackett is pumped up with the arrival of a premier quarterback at the franchise after he had to make do with Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater, who are both decent on their day, but definitely fall short of Russell Wilson’s stature.
“Once we get to know him, understand him, we’ll build [the offense] around him. So what is it going to be? It’s going to be what Russell likes to do,” said Hackett in an interview with NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero at the Annual League Meeting.
Nathaniel Hackett was also of the opinion that the franchise would benefit greatly from both his and Wilson’s previous experiences. They are two seasoned campaigners and who knows what it will be like when they join hands to trade of offensive ideas for the Denver Broncos.
