What energizes the Cincinnati Bengals star wide receiver before he hits the field? Looks like Ja’Marr Chase has finally answered. It’s very common for the players in the NFL to muse their ears as they prepare themselves to face the opponent. And so does Bengals wide-out Chase.
In a recent conversation with Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com, Chase was asked what kind of music he likes listening to before hitting the field. Well, turns out the 23-year-old wide receiver is quite into Kodak Black, which goes back to his high school days.
Quoting Hobson:
Something he will do over and over again is do what he’s been doing since he was in high school and that is right before he goes out on the field he pops on Kodak Black’s “Str8 Bars."
Chase has the songs in his SoundCloud, that’s his tradition to listen to during the warmups with earphones plugged in his ears. However, right before the games, the star wide receiver prefers to stay calm and strategize his moves to crash the opponent and bring victory to his team.
The star wide receiver is known for being outspoken and to the point like he did when he made recent headlines for asserting that he isn’t interested in playing another snow game like he did last season’s playoffs against the Buffalo Bills. Apart from that, on the field, Chase has established himself as an explosive athleticism and the key part in the Bengals’ strong offense alongside quarterback Joe Burrow. That’s why, it’s always interesting to know what gets such top players motivated before their games.
What is the surprise move made by the Bengals to their active roster?
There has been a recent update regarding the Bengals roster as they made a move, just a day before the mega-divisional matchup against the Bills scheduled for Sunday Night, in Week 9. For safety, Tycen Anderson wouldn’t be able to play due to his torn ACL injury, the Bengals decided to name wide receiver Stanley Morgan Jr. for clearing things out with the special teams unit.

Morgan, who has been with Cincinnati for quite some time now, is a core special-team member. As Anderson wouldn’t be there, Morgan would get a chance to join the active roster and replace the safety, until he recovers. He would get back into the Bengals practice squad after the Sunday Night game.
If things go well, there might be a potential possibility for it to turn into something long-term in the future. The Bengals had options of promoting veteran safety Michael Thomas, or could have filled the open spot next week with rookie Charlie Jones, however going with Morgan seemed to be a standard elevation for now.
