The Kansas Jayhawks have had a rather forgettable season this time around. After winning their first game against South Dakota, the team faced as many as eight defeats in a row. Evidently, shoulders were dropping a little bit when they were being cornered by Texas Longhorns in their latest game.
However, the game turned out to be an entertaining contest and the Kansas boys were able to finally break their losing streak in extra time by the slimmest of margins. Although everyone in the team performed well, hero of the game was Jared Casey.

Casey had never played an offensive snap for Kansas until the last game on Saturday where he really turned things around for his side. Casey’s two-point conversion in the final moments of the game sealed the deal for his team. When Casey scored the final points, his parents were actually in the stadium.
Evidently, they were over the moon with what their son had achieved and their reaction after the win was recorded on Jared’s mother’s phone which she was holding to capture the final moments of the game. The video of the reaction went viral on social media in no time.
“I just felt like I was going to throw up because I was so nervous,” Jared’s mother Karen told The Star Sunday afternoon talking about the memorable game. Jared’s brother, Justin, posted the video on Twitter, and after watching it, Karen said, “It brought me to tears, too, especially my husband’s voice.”
