Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay determined to bring Indiana a “contending team” following disastrous end to the season

Jim Irsay issued a letter to Indianapolis Colts fans after their season ended in grief on Week 18 of the NFL season.
The Indianapolis Colts missed their shot, of redeeming themselves despite a dodgy start to the season, losing out on the final match of the regular season. The Colts needed a victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars to qualify for the playoff rounds but came up short by a margin of 26-11.
Jim Irsay penned down a letter towards the fans following Colts’ defeat in Week 18
It has become a pattern of sorts for the colts, as they now missed the playoffs for the fifth time in the last seven seasons. Their run of three victories on the trot came to an end on Week 17 itself against the Las Vegas Raiders, which meant their final match was a virtual knockout and as things ended they have failed to make their way into the playoffs.
Indianapolis Colts owner, Jim Irsay is however determined to not lose hope and has urged the fans, that they would come back stronger next year. The full statement from Jim Irsay read:
“Dear Colts fans, When we started 0-3, we knew the rest of this season would be an uphill climb. We all were hopeful we could dig our way out of the hole and reach the playoffs, and we should have. But we ended our season in perhaps the worst way possible and missed our chance to compete for history.

“The buck stops with me, and this experience makes me even more determined to bring Indiana a contending team. We are already working toward the future, and I’m going to do whatever it takes to put us in a position to win next year and for years to come.
“As always, thank you for your support of the Colts in 2021. This was a rough way to end our year, but this bad taste will fuel and motivate us even more for next season. I promise you there are some exciting days to come.”

The Colts had a poor start to the season after being 0-3 down and credit should be given to the way they did fight back in the middle phases to give themselves a glimpse of making it into the playoffs, however, they need to do it all over again in the coming season, with hopefully a much better squad at their disposal.
