“Thought we were heading home”: Joe Burrow reacts to coin flip loss after AFC Championship Win

What a fantastic game the AFC Championship finale turned out to be. The Kansas City Chiefs were all over Cincinnati Bengals in the first half. They were dominating the proceedings and the Bengals were looking a little out of sorts. However, they scripted a fantastic comeback in the third quarter.
The Bengals scored as many as 11 points in the third quarter and after trailing by 18 points at one stage, they managed to tie the game before the time ran out. The game went into overtime and it felt like Mahomes and Co will yet again end up winning as they won the coin flip.
Bengals bamboozle Chiefs in OT thriller
The Chiefs came into the Championship final after defeating the Bills in overtime after winning the coin flip. So a lot of people were convinced that history will repeat itself. However, Joe Burrow and Co had other ideas. Mahomes ended up throwing an interception and the Bengals won the game in OT.
After the contest ended, Burrow was asked about what he felt when the Chiefs had won the coin flip to which he replied by saying, “Usually when you lose the coin flip to those guys, you are going home but our defense really stepped up and made plays in the second half.“
He added that the offensive line also played extremely well. When asked about how it feels to go to the Super Bowl, Burrow claimed that he is speechless at the moment. Indeed, the Bengals have been truly heroic and they deserve all the praise in the world.
