“His ego is the problem, not his race”: LaVar Arrington lashes out at Brian Flores for filing lawsuit against NFL

Brian Flores and Lavar Arrington
The NFL is surely one of the biggest sporting leagues across the world. It is a platform for many football enthusiasts to live their dream. The games have a global appeal and many youngsters aspire to be a part of them. However, from time to time, the league also gets involved in a lot of controversies.
This time, the NFL and the owners of several franchises have been accused of racial discrimination. Former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores recently filed a lawsuit against the NFL and several franchises. In the lawsuit, Flores has stated that even after the “Rooney Rule” gained prominence, racial discrimination remains a major part of it.
“This is a man who had his ego bruised”: LaVar Arrington on Brian Flores

Former American linebacker LaVar Arrington also made his stand clear on this particular topic. He actually reprimanded Flores for bringing in race needlessly into the issue. He said, “the topic of minorities being hired is not a simple topic. It is clearly an issue. It is clearly a problem, but every single time a minority has an issue does not necessarily make it based on this premise.”
“All respect due to what Brian Flores has accomplished, if I’m being honest, this is a man who had his ego bruised and hurt by how he felt things were handled,” he stated, adding, “he was looking to employ more people to come to his support and backing to validate what he was feeling.”
“That’s more personal than it is calling a whole group of people and their ethnic-racial orientation to your defense. I’ll be the first one if I feel as though that’s what it is, I’m going all-in on it, but that ain’t it right here,” he said. While many have supported Flores for taking a stand, LaVar’s take on the issue brings a new perspective to the whole issue.
It will be interesting to see if LaVar attracts criticism for his opinion on the issue or gains support for saying what he actually believes.
