“Super Excited”: Matthew Stafford is expecting this special friend in attendance at Super Bowl

“Super Excited”: Matthew Stafford is expecting this special friend in attendance at Super Bowl

Matthew Stafford and Clayton Kershaw

Clayton Kershaw is a name to reckon with in the world of baseball. Two years ago, he guided the Los Angeles Dodgers to a World Series Title and now, his buddy Matthew Stafford is one step away from a championship win with the Los Angeles Rams. Clayton and Matthew go way back.

The two sports stars grew up together in Dallas and attended the Highland Park High School. In fact, Kershaw was Stafford’s football center for a long period of time before he decided to concentrate more on baseball. However, at SoFi Stadium next Sunday, Clayton is expected to be in attendance to support his friend Stafford.

He’s excited for me, which I appreciated,” Stafford said about Clayton as per Associated Press. “We didn’t get too deep into what it’s like, what to expect. His job is so much different than mine,” Stafford claimed.

After a gap of 15 long years, the paths of these two stars crossed again when Stafford was roped in by Los Angel based Rams while his friend Clayton was already featuring for Los Angeles Dodgers. So to make sure that he is there for his friend’s big day, Clayton gave a call to Stafford informing him that he’ll try his absolute best to attend the Super Bowl.

Stafford also informed that he wants to follow Clayton’s footsteps. “He’s just excited. He said he’s going to try and be there with a buddy of his that we both grew up with. Just cool to be doing it in the same city as him. Been such a big fan of his career for so long, it’s cool to just connect with him and have him not only be excited for myself, but our team and our success,” Matt said.

I’ve got a bunch of high school teammates and buddies that have come to a bunch of the playoff games and will come to this one as well,” Stafford stated. “They’ve moved on in their lives from the game of football, and I’m still lucky enough to get to do it. It’s pretty special,” he had added.

Indeed, Stafford has a great chance to script history. His team has been brilliant, his personal performance for the new franchise has been immaculate, and with a star-studded line-up at his disposal, the fans will expect Stafford and Co to win the Super Bowl.
