“Cleveland wasn’t the right place”: Michael Irwin reckons OBJ-Browns equation was destined to fail
Odell Beckham Jr
The LA Rams have had a dream run this time around. Whenever they were put under pressure, the Rams were able to find ways to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, and as a result, they are moving to the Super Bowl. One has to admit that the transfers made by the Rams turned out to be great for them.
The Rams roped in Lions stalwart Matt Stafford and he ended up delivering superb performances. However, the transfer of the season was Odell Beckham Jr. OBJ’s mid-season transfer story turned out to be a fairytale, for the player, as well as for the franchise.
“Odell Beckham is a bad boy on the football field”: Michael Irwin
Right from the word go, OBJ played like he always belonged to the Rams. Recently, Michael Irvin had a few things to say about OBJ. He claimed that OBJ was never going to churn out great numbers for the Cleveland Browns. The Hall of Famer in interaction with TMZ Sports outside of Shannon Sharpe’s Super Bowl party said “Odell Beckham is a bad boy on the football field.”
“He just needed the stage and the right atmosphere to show everybody. And, Cleveland just wasn’t it, I’m sorry. I love Cleveland, but it just wasn’t it. This right here, L.A., Hollywood, Super Bowl, and all the energy and the bright lights it brings, that’s Odell Beckham,” he added.
“Sorry Cleveland, he couldn’t do it there, but he’’ doing it here [L.A.],” Irvin stated. Indeed, OBJ was down and out when he was with the Browns, however, as soon as he started featuring for the Rams, it felt like he belonged here. The Rams are all set to take on the Bengals at Super Bowl and we can expect a riveting encounter.
