“Not For Me To Judge”: Mike Zimmer on job status with Vikings after another crushing defeat
Mike Zimmer
With 7 wins and 9 losses thus far, the Minnesota Vikings haven’t had the most fruitful of seasons this time around. After a morale-shattering defeat against the Detroit Lions early on in December, the Vikings gained some momentum and won two games back-to-back against the Steelers and the Bears.
However, their winning momentum was halted by the Rams in the following game and most recently, the Vikings suffered another crushing defeat against the almighty Packers. Right from the first quarter to the last one, the Packers looked in complete control.
Mike Zimmer might find himself in firing line after Vikings’ dismal run of form
The men from Green Bay completely outplayed their opponents. With this loss, the Vikings are officially out of the playoff contention. This is the fifth time in the last eight seasons that they will not enter into the playoffs. Needless to say, it won’t be a huge surprise if we see a few changes in the Vikings team and support staff in the coming season.
Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer, who has a 71-56-1 record through eight seasons for the franchise might find himself in the firing line. When Zimmer was asked if he has had a conversation with team management about his job status, he said, “No I have not talked to any of them.”
When asked if he has anything to say about why he should stay the head coach for the Vikings, Zimmer had a short and crisp response. “That’s not for me to judge,” the experienced campaigner claimed. It will be interesting to see if the Vikings decide to stick with him or not for the coming season.
