The Kansas City Chiefs led by their MVP finalist quarterback Patrick Mahomes will take on the Jalen Hurts-led Eagles in a much-anticipated matchup in the Super Bowl this weekend. Many people believe these are two equally matched opponents, who will put on a show for ages during their game. However, the 49ers wideout Brandon Aiyuk isn’t buying the hype.
The star receiver recently appeared on the TheSFNiners‘ YouTube channel to talk about the disappointing early exit from the postseason where he claimed the Eagles were extremely lucky last week to reach the Super Bowl. The Eagles not only beat but humiliated the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game, but to Aiyuk’s point, the Niners were down to their 4th string quarterback due to multiple injuries.
“If I were going to bet on this game, I would take everything that I own, get it in cash, and put my money on the Kansas City Chiefs,” Aiyuk said about the Super Bowl game. “You got to get lucky to win a Super Bowl, and [the Eagles] just got extremely lucky last week, so who’s to say they can’t do it twice?”
Maybe Aiyuk is still salty over the 49ers’ defeat at the hands of the Eagles. Because even though the Eagles’ defense had it easy since they faced a 4th-string quarterback, the Eagles offense still put up 30-plus points on the tough Niners’ defense. So, one can’t simply diminish their success by claiming that they’re just lucky.

In his recent appearance on TheSFNiners, the 24-year-old receiver claimed that the 49ers were hands down, the best team in the entire league, but injuries cut their party short. “We felt like it was our time, and for that to get cut short, it’s sickening,” he said.
Furthermore, he also claimed that the Chiefs’ explosive passing offense will expose the Eagles’ defense. “I don’t know fully about that defense,” Aiyuk said. “They talk about them being a good defense; I’m not sure. I think the pass game, this Kansas City pass game, will expose what we thought we were going to be able to expose before some unfortunate circumstances.”
It looks like Brandon Aiyuk is not excited to see the game. However, fans are very excited to see the two juggernauts, the Chiefs and the Eagles going against each other in the Super Bowl this Sunday.
