Deebo Samuel won’t take back what he said about James Bradberry. The San Francisco 49ers wide receiver hasn’t forgotten the humiliation they suffered during last season’s NFC Championship game.

Samuel called Bradberry “Trash” while appearing on the I Am Athlete podcast in February after the game. He was answering the question from the host of the show, LeSean ‘Shady’ McCoy, about his opinion on the Philadelphia Eagles cornerback.

Brandon Aiyuk came out and said that they (the 49ers) were going to expose the Eagles defense. There were holes. Where are the holes?” McCoy asked.

“The back end,” Samuel replied, which threw the retired running back into a loop. He quizzed with a tone of surprise in his voice, “The back end? They are all pro, and all pro.”

“The D-line making all the All Pro’s—besides [Darius] Slay, I respect Slay,” the 27-year-old added.

Then McCoy asked Samuel about James Bradberry. He replied with just one word: “trash.”

And almost 10 months after his comments, there’s a rematch coming, which resurfaced the Pro Bowler’s comments. During yesterday’s post-practice interview, the press questioned Samuel if he regretted those comments because the 49ers suffered a massive loss (7-31) in the NFC Champions Cup game.

I don't regret anything I said.

Deebo Samuel wants revenge against the Eagles

On December 4, the 49ers and Eagles meet for the first time since their championship game. It will be interesting to see who comes out on top this time around, considering both are in red-hot form. Philadelphia is the first team in the 2023 season to reach 10 wins, while the 49ers, after a slight slump, have won three on the bounce.

The focus will be on Deebo Samuel and whether he can back up his comments and get the better of Bradberry. He will have a chip on his shoulder because South Carolina has beef with the Californian franchise. Samuel does not like the Eagles, especially all the trash talk the 49ers players had to go through after February’s defeat.

All the trash talk coming from the Eagles fanbase and the players—you just get tired of that.

He made it clear that Philadelphia only managed to secure a win because they were shorthanded. After all, quarterback Brock Purdy suffered an elbow injury and could not throw the ball. If the 23-year-old was healthy, then the result would have been different.

We lost because we played with 10 people. I ain't going to keep going on about what could've happened and what would've happened, but yeah, it would've definitely been a different outcome.

Fortunately, Purdy is ready to go this time around. As for Samuel, after missing a few games due to an apparent shoulder problem, he played the last three games and has 474 receiving yards this season.
