One of the most popular athletes on the face of this planet, tennis great Roger Federer announced his retirement from professional tennis on Thursday. The 41 year old Swiss legend penned down an emotional letter to his fans saying he won’t be further participating in an Grand Slams or ATP Tours.
Roger Federer retires with a highly decorated career with 103 title wins which includes 20 Grand Slam titles spread over a career which spanned for more than 1200 matches. Federer will last be seen in action in the Laver Cup in London.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady took to Instagram to congratulate Roger Federer on his Instagram story. Brady said that Federer was a great champion and a tough competitor.
The two of them have a lot of mutual respect for each other’s accolades with Brady tweeting back in 2017 after his 5th Superbowl win -“18 championships!!! Damn, I’m gonna have to play a lot longer to catch that @rogerfederer!!”. Roger Federer returned the greeting as he posted a picture with Tom Brady captioned – “Age is just a number.”
“Phenomenal. Just a great player. He’s just a great competitor, and I think all those guys … We all work so hard, I think. We all do. I’m sure you guys do too. You’re at the top of your profession, too. We’re all just working hard trying to be the best we can be at it, and he had a great run,” Brady said.
“Always respectful of everybody, and it meant a lot. He cared a lot,” Brady said. “He maximized his opportunities. That’s all we can all ask of ourselves.”
