Social Media is the biggest revelation of the 21st century. It has helped people connect and bring the world closer, it has also provided celebrities with the opportunity to connect with their fans directly. There are always two sides to a coin, social media is also a place where people get a lot of hate and abuse especially sports personalities.
Jets QB Zach Wilson believes in avoidance when it comes to social media. He has deleted all his apps before the offseason program to shut out the useless noise so he can focus on what’s important.
“For me, it just comes down to limiting what voices I really need to hear and, right now, it’s here, hearing what my coaches have to say, what the other QB’s have to say, and what my teammates are thinking on every single play. Even parents sometimes can be a distraction.” Zach Wilson said during a press conference.
Everyone has different ways to cope with the hate on social media some take it like a champ and some avoid it completely. Lots of players use social media to promote brands but Wilson thinks it’s not worth the trouble.
