Aaron Rodgers APPLAUDS Packers CB Keisean Nixon for ‘incredible’ performance in the win against the Rams
Aaron Rodgers and Keisean Nixon
Aaron Rodgers and the Packers dug in this week to get a much-needed victory against the Rams in the NFL. This victory against the Rams is very important as it aspires to hope and keeps the challenge for playoffs alive for them.
The Packers were splendid against the Rams and everyone performed brilliantly to defeat the defending Super Bowl champions with a score of 24-12. Rodgers was ecstatic in the post-game press conference and applauded all the players that go unnoticed but played a huge part in the Packers’ victory.
Packers CB Keisean Nixon is one of those players, who’s an exceptional punt returner. Nixon was so good that the Rams were purposely kicking the ball away from him. The 25-year-old CB has completely replaced Amari Rodgers and ranks second in the NFL out of the 16 punt receivers.
Even though Nixon is a fairly new addition to the squad, but is quickly gaining the respect of his peers and teammates. Rodgers spoke about him in the post-match press conference and only had positive things to say about him.
“Big kudos to Rich and his staff and, obviously, Keisean,” Aaron Rodgers said. “He’s been a big difference-maker for us. You hate to do the what-ifs and the lookbacks, but the way certain players were playing for us, you wonder how it would have been had things been a little different starting the season.”
Aaron Rodgers wasn’t the only one to praise Keisean Nixon after his performance
Aaron Rodgers was shocked to see the Rams kicker change the course of his kick just because of Nixon. The Packers QB thought it was ‘pretty incredible’.
However, Rodgers wasn’t the only one who praised Nixon, as he was also applauded by his HC Matt LaFleur. The Packers HC went out of the way to praise the young CB for his performance and called him the ‘difference-maker’.
“Keisean definitely has been a difference-maker for us,” LaFleur said. “I think that was pretty evident tonight having multiple big plays on those returns. He plays with the right mentality. He’s going to go for it each and every time. He’s fearless.”
The Packers are finally starting to gain some momentum in the league, however, it may be a little too late for Aaron Rodgers and Co. as they just have 3 games left and will have to win all 3 of them to qualify for the playoffs and salvage their season. The Packers will face the Dolphins in their next game.
