The New York Jets have finally answered the prayers of their forever-loyal fans. Aaron Rodgers has officially dressed up as a Jets player, as the franchise released the first picture of the quarterback dressed in the iconic green threads ahead of the 2023/24 NFL season. The Jets brought in Aaron Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers in one of the biggest trades of the offseason. Rodgers ended his 17-year-long association with the Packers as the Jets gave up multiple draft picks for the acquisition of the veteran quarterback.
The 39-year-old quarterback arrived for the first training camp at the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center in Florham Park, looking as fresh as ever, all ready to take on the new challenge ahead of him. Jets’ official Twitter handle posted Rodgers’ first look in the Jets uniform on Friday with a caption, “This is not an AI-generated photo.”
While some fans were extremely happy to get a glimpse of their favorite quarterback in his new attire, others poked fun at the expense of both the franchise and the player. Check out a few of the best reactions to the post on Twitter below-
Aaron Rodgers made a dashing entry into the Jets’ facility for their first training camp day
The 1x Super Bowl winner is coming off the back of his worst-ever season personally at the Packers, wherein he failed to lead them to a playoff spot, after a defeat against the Detroit Lions in what eventually became his swansong at Green Bay.
Aaron Rodgers will take over the role of the starting quarterback from under-fire Zach Wilson for the Jets, who are looking to mount a serious challenge for their first Super Bowl title since 1969. The Jets have not made it into the playoffs since 2010, and have had a major upheaval in terms of personnel at the franchise.
Incidentally, the Jets are the first NFL team to start their training camp for the upcoming season, since they are slated to take on the Cleveland Browns in the Hall of Fame game on the 3rd of August at the Tom Benson Hall of Fame stadium. Fans, therefore, do not need to wait for much longer to see Aaron Rodgers take the gridiron in his new uniform.
