The Minnesota Vikings suffered a huge blow on Sunday as their franchise quarterback Kirk Cousins suffered a season-ending Achilles injury during their week 8 game against the Green Bay Packers. Later, the Vikings ruled out Cousins for the remainder of the season and added a new quarterback to their roster. And now, the New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers, who suffered a similar injury earlier this year, revealed that he reached out to Cousins to encourage him in his recovery.

During a recent episode of ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show, the Jets QB made an appearance and discussed Cousins’ unfortunate injury. Furthermore, he revealed that he had a conversation with the Vikings quarterback.

I really like Kirk and I’ve competed against him over the years and I have a lot of respect for him. It was good to talk to him. Hopefully I encouraged him a little bit. It definitely sucks.
Rodgers said on Tuesday’s episode of The Pat McAfee Show.

Furthermore, Rodgers — who is currently in rehab — went on to talk about Kirk Cousins’ disappointing end to the season and revealed that he has passed on some information to him.

Kirk’s obviously playing excellent. So, disappointed for him and that injury, but passed along all the information I could and let him know what’s been working for me.

Aaron Rodgers himself is currently in rehab for the Achilles injury he suffered back in September. Rodgers, 39, has surprisingly made a quick recovery in his rehab. And now, he has given some encouraging advice to Cousins.

Pro Bowl quarterback Kirk Cousins suffered a major Achilles injury in the Vikings’ week 8 game against the Packers. And now, he has received some information from Aaron Rodgers, who suffered a similar injury back in week 1 of the ongoing season.

In Tuesday’s episode of The Pat McAfee show, Rodgers revealed that he recommended the doctor who did his surgery, Dr. Neil ElAttrache, and his rehab process to the 35-year-old quarterback. Besides, Rodgers said that he would recommend the same surgery for anyone in the future, but he acknowledged that it might not be for everyone.

But definitely the type of surgery I did. I think it’s going to be way more mainstream moving forward. It’s not for everybody. It’s not for every body type.

Rodgers further acknowledged that Cousins has no chance of getting back this season. So, he might not be in a rush like the Jets quarterback to return to the field.

As for the Minnesota-based football team, they have bounced back nicely after starting the season with a record of 1-4 through the first 5 weeks. They won three games in a row under the leadership of Cousins and now have a record of 4-4. But now that Cousins’ season is over, they made a trade with the Arizona Cardinals to acquire QB Josh Dobbs just ahead of the trade deadline.
