Aaron Rodgers and Nathaniel Hackett shared a great relationship when the latter was the offensive coordinator for the Packers. Hackett then later moved on to the Broncos as the HC to improve the team, who had just made one of the biggest trades in NFL history by bringing in QB Russell Wilson.
Although things didn’t go the way Hackett would have planned as the Broncos struggled to find form and were on an abysmal 4-11 record after 15 games. The new management soon fired the Broncos HC after the hammering received against the Rams on Christmas Eve.
Rodgers has always been a good friend to Hackett and when the Packers QB was asked about Hackett’s firing, he had some interesting revelations to make. A-Rod believes that Hackett wasn’t a great fit for the Broncos for various reasons. Although, he didn’t point out those reasons on the Pat McAfee show.
“Obviously it wasn’t a great fit in Denver for a number of reasons that I don’t think I need to bring up, but the record is what it was, and the new owner decided to make a change, which is his prerogative,” Rodgers stated on the Pat McAfee Show. “Hackett’s still going to get paid, and he’s got an incredible wife and a great family, and a lot of things to be proud of, and he’s got a great friend in me still.”
Rodgers and Hackett have now been rumored to reunite back at the Packers if Hackett takes up his old job. However, there is no concrete evidence to back up this rumor. Skip Bayless stated a similar thing on the show Skip and Shannon: Undisputed, where he stated that Hackett was hired solely to sway Rodgers to the Broncos.
The Broncos hired Nathaniel Hackett to persuade Aaron Rodgers to make the move to Denver

Rodgers has only played in one team throughout his life and is currently a legend of the game. Nonetheless, the Broncos’ management wanted to sign the legendary QB and decided to hire Nathaniel Hackett as the HC. They thought that the process would be much easier, as Hackett and Rodgers shared a great relationship on and off the field.
The whole incident was explained by Skip Bayless on the Undisputed as he spoke about Hackett being fired as the Broncos HC. However, the move was a total dud for the Broncos, as they weren’t able to sway Rodgers and had to settle with Russell Wilson as their main man.
Aaron Rodgers recently signed a humongous three-year deal with the Packers and put an end to all the rumors of changing teams. It is expected that the reigning MVP will end his playing career with the team where it all started.
