The Philadelphia Eagles started their 2023 season with 10 wins in their first 11 games. They were on course to claim the number one seed in the NFC.

However, they have slipped in recent weeks and lost four of their last five games. They also lost the top spot of their conference in the process and seem to have lost form at the worst possible time.

They are playing the New York Giants to end their regular season away from home. Although they have already qualified for the postseason, the top spot of the NFC East is still up for grabs. A win for the Eagles and a defeat for the Dallas Cowboys against the Washington Commanders will give them the Philadelphia-based team the division title.

However, the game hasn’t started well for the Eagles as multiple Philly players have injured themselves in the first half. WR AJ Brown and QB Jalen Hurts, both suffered injuries in the first half of the game.

Brown was down on the ground for a lot of time, holding his right knee following a fumble late in the first quarter. Brown did manage to get up and move on his own, but he went through the locker room and towards the blue medical tent.

Brown walked off the pitch without a cart or help. The Eagles declared that his chances of playing again are doubtful.

Another player who was hit by the injury bug during the game was the team’s star QB Jalen Hurts. The quarterback left the Week 18 match against the Commanders early in the second quarter because of a finger injury.

It was his throwing hand that was injured. However, Hurts came back into the game after taping his finger and wearing a glove on his throwing hand.

The Eagles are looking to end their difficult second half of the season on a positive note. Winning this game will improve their chances of winning the division for the second time in a row. Hurts and Brown are crucial for the Eagles and with receiver DeVonta Smith already ruled out for the game, the onus will was on the QB-WR duo of Hurts-Brown to deliver a win against the Giants.
