Antonio Brown has often been on the cusp of controversy since his departure from the NFL. The eccentric WR had a football team for the National Arena League called the Albany Empire.
However, his team was kicked out of the league because the former NFL WR failed to make the required payments for the league’s operating budget. Before their final game, Albany Empire’s coach Moe Leggett and all the other players were paid their outstanding amount following their final game against Orlando Predators.
Interestingly, days after their final payment, a player updated the group chat with a screenshot of his bank account. It is reported that Brown pulled back all the payments from the recipient’s bank account.
Empire coach Moe Leggett sat down for an interview with Time Union and stated that he’s tried to reach the former Pittsburgh Steelers WR. However, Brown has not been in contact since the alleged withdrawal of the paychecks.
“I’m frustrated,” Leggett told the Times Union. “I tried to give Brown the benefit of the doubt. tried to work with him. I was trying to be the peacemaker, the mediator to make sure things ran smoothly and just under the radar. But I can no longer do that.”
The players and coaches are preparing to file a class action lawsuit against Antonio Brown for the cancellation of their paychecks. There are many Albany Empire players that are supporting their coach.
