Saints RB Alvin Kamara and Chiefs CB Chris Lammons’ case hearing for severely BEATING a man in Las Vegas delayed till Jan 23
Alvin Kamara and Chris Lammons were hit by a major civil lawsuit for allegedly assaulting a man in Las Vegas on February 2022. The lawsuit stated that the Saints RB and three other men, including Lammons, beat the accuser brutally and stomped on him while he was down.
The case is still undergoing, as new reports suggest that the hearing date is delayed yet again and will be on January 2023. There is also a preliminary hearing for Alvin Kamara to be present on 1 March 2023.
Both Kamara and Lammons have been free on bond and have been allowed to play in the league while the court hearings are still underway. NFL has decided to take action against the players after the verdict is out. Therefore, it is highly unlikely that both of them will be suspended this season.
The accuser, Greene, filed a civil lawsuit against Kamara demanding $10 million in damages and jury trials. This includes $5 million for actual damages, loss, pain and suffering, disfigurement, mental anguish, and past and future medical expenses, as the other $5 million is for exemplary damages.
Alvin Kamara was arrested on 6th February 2022
Alvin Kamara played in the Pro Bowl for the Saints before getting arrested on 6th Feb. Chris Lammons from the Chiefs turned himself in some days later while the other two defendants were arrested by 14th February.
Kamara and his friends were caught on surveillance footage and casino cameras as they were brutally beating the guy and chasing him while he tried to run.
Police stated that Kamara stopped the accuser from entering the elevator, leading to a skirmish between them. The accuser pushed the Saints RB’s hand, resulting in Lammons punching the guy.
The accuser soon passed out after getting brutally assaulted and all 4 defendants were escorted out the back exit. The lawsuit claims Kamara “deliberately used violent force against (Greene) with the intent to inflict actual damage.”
Alvin Kamara is a beast on the field as the RB has made the Pro Bowl for the past 5 seasons. Though it is not known what kind of action will be taken against them by the league as the NFL is waiting for the verdict by the court. The Saints RB is still in the squad as they will face the Steelers in their next game.
