The NFL has found its new historic coach-quarterback duo in the form of Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid. Ever since the legendary combo of Bill Belichick and Tom Brady, which brought the New England Patriots six Super Bowl rings and dominated the league for two whole decades, fell apart, there had been a longing among the fans to experience such coordination again.

But when the Chiefs elite quarterback led the team to another Super Bowl victory under head coach Reid, it turned out that the two are exactly what the fans were looking for. After the Patriots in 2004, the Kansas City Chiefs have now become the only other team across the league to win back-to-back Super Bowl rings

As Mahomes learned from the best– Brady, who not only never disrespected coach Belichick but also expressed surprise when ‘the greatest coach of all time’ didn’t land anywhere after he departed from the Patriots; the 28-year-old also showed his gratitude towards his coach, Reid, after their third Super Bowl victory together.

In the post-game press conference, the three-time Super Bowl championship labeled the 65-year-old coach as the “best coach of all time.” He credited the coach for knowing when to call the plays in the game and how to achieve the victory.

He’s one of the best coaches of all time, I believe he is the best coach of all time. I know he didn’t have the trophies yet, and I have a lot of respect for some of those great coaches, but the way he is able to navigate every single team he has, continue to have success no matter where he is at

Patrick Mahomes applauded HC Andy Reid’s coaching style

While showering the Chiefs’ head coach with high praises for his ability to call the right plays in the game, Mahomes also shed light on his coaching style. He stated that Reid doesn’t try to change his players but works with what he has by highlighting the players’ skills.

For me, he brings out the best in me because he lets me be me. He doesn’t try to make me anyone else.

He also gave the entire credit for his success as well as the team’s to his coach, adding,

I don’t think I would be the quarterback that I am if I didn’t have coach Reid being my head coach.

The future Hall of Famer also highlighted that this is just the beginning of the Chiefs’ dominating era and he isn’t done with three rings, as he aspires to overpower Brady’s seven-rings legacy.
